A self-made businessman (Richard Egan) rekindles a romance with a former flame (Dorothy McGuire) while their two teenage children (Troy Donahue and Sandra Dee) begin a romance of their own with drastic consequences for both couples.
Toss in Percy Faith's number one hit single (Theme from A SUMMER PLACE), which is now an instrumental standard, and you had a movie that sold lots of popcorn and Kleenex.
